A special feature of Windows 95 that stores the settings for different users. Each user has his or her own profile that describes how Windows looks and performs. Simon might want shortcuts to an Internet browser, whereas Sue might prefer to have CD-ROM titles installed as shortcuts. When you switch on the PC, Windows asks for your user name and configures itself according to the settings in the Profile.
